Perot Theatre

Guests will want to visit the beautiful restored Perot Theatre, located in downtown! This theatre has been a landmark since 1924 and has been fully restored by the City of Texarkana, TX. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Texarkana natives, H. Ross Perot and his sister Bette, through the Perot Foundation, contributed much of the restoration costs in memory of their parents. The theatre hosts the Perot Theatre Series, which includes performances such as opera, dance, comedy and more!

Ace of Clubs House

The Ace of Clubs House, built in 1885, is an Italianate Victorian home uniquely designed in the shape of a club. As the legend has been told, the money to build the house was from the winnings of a poker game with a lucky draw of the ace of clubs. This house is filled with original furnishings dating from the 1720s through the 1940s and is considered one of the best attractions in the country. Visitors will want to take a guided tour and tours are available Tuesday through Sunday.

Discovery Place Children’s Museum

Adults and children alike will enjoy taking a quick walk through history at Discovery Place. See the giant prehistoric and scenic wildlife murals and touch your hand on the various shapes at the Sound Wall. Take your children back in time while they play in the museum’s replica of a 1900s Mercantile Store and a fully equipped 1920s kitchen. Visitors often come to Discovery Place Children’s Museum for the musical masterpiece of sight and sound exhibit with one-million-volt musical Tesla coils!
